Its been 14 months since my son had a knock on the door and 5 hours later walked into my home to say what he had been arrested for. 14 of the longest months where we have as a family circled the waggons with love for someone who totally out of character admitted he had done something we would never have expected. Our funny , giving and kind son. 14 months of wondering whether he would harm himself, a visit to the GP where he said the only thing that stopped him doing that was our love. 14 months of him in counselling, taking part in safer lives and late night calls with him sobbing at how he had been sucked in and was too stupid to realise the ramifications. He was wrong he knows and will face the music in his plea trial, ultimately losing a job and friends at work over the last 14 years. I have continued to work past retirement to financially help. 14 months of him not daring to hug his neice in case he floughts bail despite his sister telling him she knows inside he is good. This is not a pity post, he has done wrong and is doing the right thing but i fear for his sanity and future once the sentance comes. Despite all of this and it being totally abhorrant we all suffer because online content is there for anyone to obtain....its a sad world
Sending you love. It is a horrible place to be in. We are 18 months in. No CPS or court date in sight. Social services scrutiny (I have 3 children).
There are no excuses. The impact on wider family is horrible. It is hard to accept that your son has done something morally questionable and no doubt goes against your belief system of good and bad.
I have just started therapy and it is helping. Life has changed so much. The future is so uncertain but I have compassion still for the man that has my life and the life of his children. It has definitely made me stronger though.
