Hello

ive not been on here for months as somehow being on here makes me over think. I try to compare my sons case to others on here. Panic then realise that case I was reading is nothing like my sons!
we're almost 15 months still on bail! We've been told it should be done by December but then oh no it might be January!
I made a formal complaint about the detective over numerous issues. The complaint was referred back to the police who of course dismissed it!
The time that these cases are taking is seriously unfair. My son was 16 when the alleged crime took place he turns 19 in January! It shouldn't be allowed. Part of our delay was because of the detective and lack of communication skills!!! My sons ok but not ok! He did amazing in his alevels. Got into uni but deffered his place. He's still convince if he's charged no uni will take him. Hes put himself into councelling which is helping. And he's doing another a level this year. He's working and still has his lovely girlfriend who he was with before he was arrested. We're just pleading with the universe that the CPS decide it's not in the publics interest!
I hope everyone out there is holding up. I know we feel like we're serving a sentence now and have done for tge last 15 months. Me and his dad have had no holidays as we daren't leave him! Big hugs to you all

Likewise haven't been on here for a while as it makes me spiral and life has thrown some other big curveballs our way lately. After nearly 12 months on bail we've just found out he will be charged. Like you we'd hoped and prayed they wouldn't see it as in public interest (especially as CPS asked for more info on a few things going on with my son). We've had all the same frustrations with communication and not following proper processes, but here we are. And guess what, they waited until he'd just turned 19 before bringing charges. Funny that they're telling you it'll be January when that's when your son turns 19! Well done to him for doing so well. Sadly my son failed everything, in no small part because he wasn't allowed to return to school under initial bail conditions and by time we got them relaxed a bit it was too late! So after a few months of relative calm on this front (but lots of other rollercoasters of emotion) we're back in the unknown with all the anxiety that brings. But I guess at least the end is in sight.

It's just heartbreaking isn't it! Do you know how long it's going to be till you get to court? It's horrific that tge system messed up your sons education. I thought they'd rather suspects get their eduction than let them fail. I really hope your son is ok and gets to make a life for himself after this. And you too my life has stopped really. I just go through the motions every day. I go to bed thinking about it and wake up thinking about it day in day out. We just want it over with so we can move forward xx

It's so hard isn't it. Can only hope we get some normality back at some point. And they get a second chance. We don't know how long now but should get a date when he's charged.
