Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can offer any advice please. November 2025 the knock came husband had been communicating with a 12 yo online. 15 devices seized. Like everyone knows its been a living hell since. He was due to go back to police station today but they just rang him and has been extended for another month! my question is why would they do this its been almost a year to the day since his arrest?. He has told me there was only this one conversation and no images will be found so why would the police extend it? we separated the day of the knock and he has supervised access of our autistic daughter which I do so I have to see him each time my daughter wants to see him. I thought after 12 months the police had to apply to cps for extensions? I was hoping today would be the day things started moving.

Hi runaway,

I'm in a similar situation of the knock in November 2025, 17 of his devices seized. We were told that there is a backlog of a minimum of 15 months in our area for forensics to analyse them (North West England).

Where we differ though is the police removed my husband from bail just before 6 months to halt the escalation to the CPS by 12 months because forensics wouldn't be done in time. You're right that you'd be expecting that escalation now. Does he have a solicitor? Mine has a solicitor pre-charge just in case and all police contact has been through them. It may be worth talking to one at this stage to resolve this bail situation, if possible.

Hi @screaminginside does he now have no bail conditions meantime?

I am north west England but he was told after 6 months that analysis had now started (which was now a month ago nearly).

Aye, his bail conditions were removed. The solicitor said that as the device searching won't be for at least 15 months, the police dropped them in the meantime and if he's rearrested , the bail conditions would start again.
