Has anyone any experience to share? My husband has been convicted of viewing/sharing indecent images. We have grandchildren aged between 18 months ans 16. It's starting to look as though my husband, their grandad, will probably not be able to see them at all. The SOR says he should not be alone with under 18s and has to report to his supervisor officer if he stays more than 12 hours in a household with under 18s. The SHPO has gone further saying he can ONLY have contact with 'the express consent of the social services for the area'. Its only a draft until sentencing and the solicitors will will try to get it changed but all the stories on here seem to say social services are tougher than the police.
One of our daughters has already seen social services who would only sign her off if she agreed 'minimal' contact.
I'm beginning to think we're never going to have anything approaching a normal life so not even a picnic in the park with the family as social services won't give consent.

Hi. The knock at my door came in March . My daughters children (7 months, 4 and 12 ) are at mine almost daily and I have 4 other grandchildren. Although police found no evidence they told me a referral would still be made to SS who contacted each of my children to check what involvement my new ex partner had with the children . Their biggest concern was obviously my daughters 3 . Oh the basis that the kids confirmed my relationship was over they agreed no care order required however they stressed if that wasn't the case they needed to know . I've been locked down with the daughter at hers as my ex partner saying he refused to be mad homeless during lockdown (although he thinks everything will eventually been swept under the carpet and I will forget and forgive) . Roll on 2 weeks and SS obtain information (not sure where from because I have only told a handful of people) that we are still together and the kids almost live at mine . I had a conversation with a social worker explaining the situation and assuring her that the kids hadn't even been to my house since the police came but that no further action was being taken . I don't have a problem with their involvement as there's no going back for me but they stressed irrespective of the police not taking action he's a risk to them and if I'm with him there would be a social care order in my daughters children.
