Hi ladies. I'm back with my ex partner we're still awaiting his trail... I'm thinking he'll most likely get jail time I don't know how I'll cope with not seeing him/texting/calling him all day every day. I have no idea how the jails work in regards to visiting and phone calls etc? I'm in Scotland not sure if England varies just looking to see if anyone knows...

Hi!

I'm also in Scotland, but the only experience i have is from knowing someone who was in Cornton Vale. I don't know if different prisons have different rules, but she was able to call at least every other day, and emailed every day. She would get a print out of the replies, and then time to respond to them. The visiting was twice a week too.

I hope this helps to put you at ease a little?

A print out of the replies then time to respond? What does that mean? As in letter form?

Sorry I meant they would get a print off of the emails that you send and then they will get time on a computer to reply to your email. They will also get phone time :)

In terms of visiting, I believe they are given set times and days but I could be wrong. Any visiting I did was at night.. maybe find out which prison it would be likely to be if he goes, and then you can check on their website and/or email them?

Sorry I'm not more use! X

Don't know Scotish jails. But my friend is in prison for drugs. He can phone and you can join the prison email system .They cannot reply straight awsy. Letters as many as you want. Once they are settled they can request your visits. When i speak to my daughter i will ask . Although they are quiet strick on internet i know this. Hugs sweetie xx

Hi

I'm in scotland. My son is in

Prison. Before lockdown he could call almost anytime. Since lockdown it's once day only. No visits at moment but usually at least twice a week. Can hand money in whenever you want but has to be postal orders during lockdown. Can sign up to email a prisoner which costs you forty pence per email whether it's long or short . also with visits they have set days and times for convicted prisoners and remand prisoners.Hope this helps x

I really don't know how I'll cope with this at all. I'm praying he doesn't get jail time but I think he probably will

His solicitor has told him in Scotland the judge can give you any sentence he wants it's different to England where if you do this you get a certain length of time I'm scared he's going to get a year plus I don't know the average time they get
