I have been asked to give evidence against my husband in court, obviously I'm nervous about this as I'm sure his barrister will try to annihilate me!!

Just wondered if anyone else has been through this and whether or not you get any sort from the police?

Hi Tracey

I didnt go to court. My husband pleaded guilty so there was no court case just sentencing. Im not sure how they go about questioning witnesses. I just want to wish you good luck. Your very strong to get through everything and youll get through the case im sure

It may be worth giving the lead officer a call to see if they offer support and if not they will be able to help you out in finding someone. It might be worth giving the stop it guys a call as I am sure they'd be able to help too.

It must be terrifying for you at the thought of standing up giving evidence but we are much stronger than we realise you know.

Im not sure if the police offer support but its worth asking. The court should be able to offer some support. Witnesses are usually fairly well looked after by the courts. You may have to ask but sometimes they will show you the court room etc before you give evidence and you can ask to spesk with the prosecution barrister (they will likely want to speak to you anyway). Just remember all you have to do is tell the truth. It wont be pleasant or easy but you can do it. If you dont understand say so and dont be affraid to say if you dont understand a question. Good luck, i hope it all goes well.

Thanks to your all, I'll get in touch with someone next year and see if I can get some help. His trial isn't until April, unless he pleads guilty before that - we can only hope!! Xx
