Hell all
The police have now had my sons 2 computers and dil computer for well over 7 months now, last we heard they were unable to det into the devices to check them. I was wondering if anyone has insurance for the items have you claimed as lost items, i donet want my son to do this but one computer is worht over £2000.00 and if and when he gets it back it will be an out of date model.

It is a question for a solicitor but in my partner's experience the devices found to have content was destroyed with no compensation.
I would think you wouldn't be able to claim, the items are not lost they have been sized. You know where they are and the search warrant paperwork was signed to say you know what was taken. Suggesting items were lost and not fully disclosing to the insurance company would therefore be fraud. A solicitor would give definitive answer but I really doubt insurance covers this.
