Hiya,

Looking for some advice from those who are further down the line. If the police set certain bail conditions regarding children, can social services then go against this?

In my experience the police bailed my husband and said he could be at the family home during the day (not overnight) but needed to be supervised when with the children. SS then decided he could only be with the children for 4 hours a day.

We're currently at supervised contact and no overnight stays from the police, but social services are not allowing any contact currently except via phone/video call.

The kids have been seen twice now face to face with me, and we are 4 half weeks after first visit. Just frustrating that the police said he could visit on sunday, but ss are saying no. I'm not sure of we are still on a section 47? Child in need? But they seem happy with their current care.

SS can try to get a legal order on top of bail conditions. My husband lived with us after arrest for 5 months. He was bailed to our home address, police and procurator Fiscal were happy. Social work was not, they tried to get an order to prevent him being bailed there.
