Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone had good recommendations for getting decent help for the offenders? My Sons Dad is very desperate to get help, he has contacted Stop It Now quite a few times over the last two weeks but hasn't gotten any reply or support from them.
I know of the Lucy Faithful Inform Plus course but nearly £800 isn't doable right now as he's just lost his job due to the arrest. The social worker mentioned that he will probably put on the Horizon course but in three years time which seems crazy? Social services have paid for me to have two sessions with a specialist but he's not being offered any help despite being the one with the problem so any ideas?

There's also a counselling service for offenders called saferlives it's fairly small and localised but if you Google it and it's near your area maybe they could help. Or the police could direct you to something near you to help

Best of luck.

Hi Lee 1969

I'm not sure what I'd considered as cheap

We just needed immediate help whatever

The cost to save my sons life at the time.

I've read lff course is around £700. ??

Safer lives wasnt so much and answered the phone

I know lff is overloaded as are they all

But when u need help for someone, you need it now..

Thank you everyone! Some great suggestions here! He doesn't have a penny to his name anymore unfortunately as he worked for the police and was suspended immediately and is likely to be fired at the review on the 15th (he was still on probation too) I think he will find it very hard to get himself another job and he is currently sleeping on his parents living room floor and they don't have any money either so he's going to have to find himself something that doesn't cost

The imform plus course is worth it and the cost can be spread out. My partner had to wait until about a year to ensure he was settled and had a secure job before applying for the course. Covid will impact job searching but it is possible to get jobs I'm sure, tho may not pay as well depending on the previous roles pre knock. My partner had quite a pay cut and had to work long hours and overtime. My partner didn't have to give a reference for his job after the knock. I hope in time your partner (or ex, sorry can't remember) in time will get a job to get an income.

Sending hugs

Hi lee 1969 x

So sorry if I sounded offended that was not my intention at all

I only meant lff wasnt accessible at the time and safer lives helped.

My dad had a stroke on sat morn so I was reading forums for some grounding and in no way meant to come across as stroppy.

So sorry

I think free unjudgemantal help should be available to all immediately and only wish this was the case.

Dads ok thank God but I'd hate for you to think youd upset me and more so I'd upset you

Hugs to all

X
