Hi, I can only go on my experience. I think you stand a better chance of no reporting if you're in a large town or city but there is no guarantee and no way of knowing. You could check your local papers and see how often they report on these cases. I have been through this process twice as my son re-offended and the media reported on both court appearances the first time, plea hearing and sentencing but only on the sentencing the second time. I think this is the thing that makes us lose sleep the nearer it gets but you DO survive it. My son received a prison sentence last time and the papers decided to publish a photo of him and our address (no number) we have a unusual surname so everyone knew. It was horrendous and I thought I was going to die of worry and shame every time but I'm still here, it never goes away(I am 5 years in from first time) but it soon becomes yesterday's news and you learn to just live with it, unfortunately this is something we have no control over.
