You already have some good advice. That's terrible, and does seem like an abuse of power. Lots of people work from home, and have access to senstive data. It surely is a given that we do not give access to our work laptops / passwords to anyone else. It's such basic data protection. Everyone is responsible for data protection, and we can individually be fined for breaching GDPR. If he has a SHPO he'd also likely be in breach of it, risking a prison sentence. So there are severe penalties for both you and him. I think it's unlikely anyone would give their work password to their partner, but you would have to be completely mad to give it to someone who was convicted or suspected of one of these offences. Imagine if they reoffended while logged on as you - you would struggle to prove that it wasn't you.

I'm a teacher too. The first people I told were my school DSl and head. No concerns have ever been raised about this, and I work from home regularly. I can't see there should be any concerns given that even if your ex wasn't on the SOR, he shouldn't be having access to to your computers anyway so it makes no difference? No one out of school should be able to access your work documents etc.

I am so sorry that you are having this extra stress.

Hi Emma please just take a deep breath, this whole thing it's too much sometimes doesn't it?

When you originally disclosed to your employer what was happening with regards to your ex, did your work ask the LADO for thier advice. In my employment I was referred to the lado because I have children and then my employer sought thier guidance which even prior to covid was that I was not to take my laptop home whilst he was under investigation to be reviewed dependent on outcome.

I had lots of thoughts around they didn't trust me and I would never be part of any of this and like you would never give passwords or access to laptop we also have a card with another password to access client information there is no way I would give that out, however my manager assured me it wasn't because she didn't trust me or think I'd would give passwords it was because she didn't want me to be put in a position where I could be accused of colluding or attempted to be cohursted into providing that information.

even then what do they think our partners are going to do with the information?

More recently my team have all been working from home and I have to attend the office. Have your employers been informed of this meeting? I am concerned someone has just turned up unannounced given the covid situation and that you did not have chance to represent yourself. I do agree it does seem like a knee jerk reaction but no change there.
I find it crazy that everyone has been sent home to work but most people have partners or family members and who knows what their convictions are but because we have been open and honest we seem to once again be punished.

sending huge hugs

That should apply to anyone really not just someone who has a conviction or is being investigated. No one should be able to access confidential records. I'm not if a password is used for databases and a screensaver then that would be ok.
