Hi all,

So last night I was chatting to my partner about wanting to go to Disney Paris hopefully next year when it is safe to do so. I know he won't be allowed into America due to his conviction. We will have to let the police know where we plan to go on holiday, he isn't particularly banned from going abroad but have to abide by travel law of where we visit. I think France isn't too restrictive but has anyone been told offenders can't go to theme parks abroad? Just want to know whether I should just give up on the idea :(

Also have people had issues with saying they are going to theme parks in the UK?

Thanks

Tracey

Hi.

I haven't had personal knowledge of this but I know that some holiday parks, caravan parks etc have a clause that don't allow sex offenders so you need to read the small print before you book anything

Good luck with finding somewhere xx

We got an update from the police officer who manages my partner. She said she has had no issues with people going to Europe and just advised using all manual checkpoints rather than automatic because he will be stopped anyway.

Hopefully we can go to the Disney park and will just keep to ourselves. I guess it would be more if a concern if we went with kids.

Planning a trip to Disney Paris sounds amazing! Travel regulations can be a bit tricky, especially with past convictions. In general, each country has its own laws regarding entry for individuals with criminal records. France might not be as restrictive, but it's always wise to double-check. Sometimes, certain theme parks might have their own policies too.

Regarding the UK, it shouldn't be too problematic, but again, it's best to verify. Sometimes, informing the police about travel plans can help navigate any potential issues smoothly.

I found this resource on the best amusement parks in the US https://wealthofgeeks.com/best-amusement-parks-in-the-us/ that might provide some insights into different parks and their policies. It could give you an idea of what to expect.

Europe you will be fine, they just ask you when you get back in the country. Theme park, you need to read the terms and conditions. All the theme parks in the UK say no one on the sex offenders register is allowed entry. The police actually said to us they're not sure how they police this as you can buy tickets on the gate.

Hi, Iv searched through all of disneys terms and conditions and there's nothing to say anyone on the sor can't go in, also nothing in Alton towers terms and conditions to say you can't enter.

Thats great news!!!

Oh thats strange, Thorpe park do and they're all Merlin. I'll be honest i didn't check Alton towers as its quite far, just thorpe park, centre parcs etc. I just went on what the police said to us. All it says though us they don't knowingly let them in.

I've scrutinised T&C's and Disneyland Paris does not exclude sex offenders. I'm not sure what happens though if you tell probation and mosovo that that is where you intend to go and whether they would be unhappy with you staying in themed hotel etc . I want to do it next year before etias comes in when my little one is a pre schooler so have been looking into it. Be keen to hear how you get on!

I also couldn't see anything for Legoland windsor when I checked a few months ago

if they say you can't stay in the Disney hotels then there are plenty of good hotels very close by they have free buses to use to the parks. I have searched all of disneys terms and cannot see anywhere where it says people on sor can't stay in the hotels.

I think you're right confusedwife, hopefully it will all be ok when we go! (If we can scrape the money together!)
