We are now just shy of 6 months since the knock, 5 months since the last contact with the investigating officers.

I know that the whole covid situation can't help the investigation process but it really does seem to be dragging out.

The police still have all my storage media and most of my devices and there is a absolutely no sign of when this whole process will end. I'm not the one who committed a crime, yet I'm still assumed guilty until they go through all my stuff.

When will this end!

Scared&afraid

Hi, so sorry you're going through the awful waiting game. It's like a punishment and we've done nothing to deserve it.

Have you contacted the police about your own devices? I got my laptop back quite quickly, and the arresting officer even bought it round to me so I didn't have to go and collect it.

Scared and afraid, it's a long process I am afraid. The knock for my husband was back in May 2019. He had second interview at the beginning of Feb 2020 and a week later got forwarded to the cps, he still hasn't been charged. As you say, COVID 19 will not speed this very stressful agonising wait. The length of time they take investigating and leaving families in limbo is disgusting and something needs to be done to make it more bearable as it's not good for anyone's mental health.
I hope you can get some info from the investigating officer, you are within your rights to get in contact.

Scared & afraid

Sorry but yes it is a very long process which just goes to prove there are too many people in our shoes! The knock for us came back in October 2018, second interview in June 2019, plea hearing eventually in may 2020 and sentencing will be July 16th, a whole 21 months living in limbo, we're expecting a custodial sentence, this has honestly been the worst time of our lives, stay strong

It's a long haul, sadly. Our knock was early march 2019. Almost 16 months on, we've heard absolutely nothing. No second interview, nothing returned. I feel forgotten.
