Hello!

Looking for a little guidance from you warriors .

First date was today and we were expecting to be able go enter a plea as per all the Covid guidances. However, when we got there, the lawyer (who was someone different in the firm than we had been dealing with) literally only spoke about the ability of claiming legal aid. Absolutely nothing about the case, nothing about the charges - zilch, zero! Also said no chance of a plea which is contrary to everything we have read.

We were told that as he had spoken to him the lawyer could just go in and respesent him and he would sign something later. Naively, he agreed. Few hours later, a phone call from the lawyer again speaking about legal aid.

Essentially, we still have no idea if any charges have changed. We have no idea what happened today. We have noino idea whats happening going forward and no clue about pleas or the process. The trust in the lawyer is zero as he seems to be only focussed on legal aid, even though, as we said to him, we are lucky enough to be in a position to afford to pay for legal counsel.it was very bizarre.

Tomorrow we're going to look at new lawyers and get some second opinions.

What was your experiences like?

Thank you for this... I've barely slept a wink all night.

We wanted to get the plea in when it was a closed court to minimise any risk of it getting out, but feel completely misled and I hope this doesn't affect things going forward.

I know that the courts here are allowing electronic pleas to be entered so hopefully we can maybe still do one of them but who knows. We will be teaching out today to new lawyers and getting a feel for them xxx
