I know one or two people have followed my journey and today the legal part concluded, and I know partners are interested in outcomes at the end of this awful experience. Briefly....

May 2017 the 'knock'

Initially bailed then released under investigation

March 2020, 2 years and 10 months later charged with images in all categories 200A 200B 15000C

3 years and 3 months later sentencing

20 months custodial suspended for 2 years, 130 hours community service, 30 hours probation, 10 years on the sex offenders register and 10 years SHPO

This was a first offence. I now somehow have to rebuild a life.

I have been following your journey Ann and in a way I am happy to see finally this chapter has ended for you. I personally found it less stressful after sentencing since once you get your head around the restrictions it helps to plan how to live 'a new normal'.

My partner also has community service and at some point I want to start a thread about it since it isn't mentioned much on here. My partner has been messed about with it.

Not heard of the hours needed for probation before, is this for rehabilitation? My partner had to see his probation officer once a week, now twice a week after 6 months.

Sending hugs

Hi Ann, I've beem reading ur posts for as long as I've been on here, yours got exactly same as mine for similar amounts and categories, , mine had to do community service in cemetery cutting bushes as they have to be careful where they can put people on the register, i hope for you it does not hit the media xxx

Ann, I imagine that this is yet another emotional and difficult part of this hellish journey. A relief to finally get the sentencing over, but heartache about the sentence and the impact on your lives. You have had to wait soooo long. I was rather hoping that the wait would have been taken into account, as the punishment really started on arrest. No-one who hasn't been through it really can understand that. I do hope that all your family are now supporting you. And that you have good friends who can help you all. Thinking of you, and hoping that your life can regain some balance and normality. Thank you for thinking of updating us. xxx

Hi Ann

I too have been following you on here.
Am sorry to read the outcome, it does seem harsh considering the time it has taken!
Was anything mentioned about the time scale of the investigation?

We got the the knock June 2018, Rui and are still waiting with nothing happening.

I am pleased it wasn't an actual prison sentance at least.

wishing you all the very best. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Hi Ann

I would like to echo the words of Mabel and the others. I have followed your story and admire the dignity and calmness of your words. We have been waiting almost 18 months and hb has just been charged and got a court date in late autumn. I can't imagine what 3 years+ must feel like in this dreadful situation.

I wish you all the best and hope you can regain a happy life for the future.
