Telling the children and access

can anyone advise? My ex has recently been sentenced to 8 months suspended following indecent images (mainly A) being found on his computer. Since the knock, nearly 2 years ago, he has had supervised access to his kids. Im now in a quandary as im getting advice from my solicitor that he shouldn't have access at all. I totally see their point but concerned about the affect on the kids. Or is it more harm to them to see him. He is also putting pressure on me for access ( I stopped letting him see them since going to court) Also have had 2 lots of local press coverage including someone sharing the article on Facebook as well as gossiping about it. Am terrified how this will impact the kids ( 9 and 11) so am planning to talk to them this weekend. Any advice/ resources available to help with this? Also the thought of leaving the house is filling me with dread with not knowing who may or may not know.
Hi Sali79,
This sounds like an incredibly complicated situation, if possible I think it would be best for you to call our anonymous and confidential helpline on 0808 1000 900. Our trained helpline operators will be best placed to provide you with support regarding your current situation. Additionally, several of our operators have previously worked as social workers with Children’s Services and therefore will be able to provide you with really useful advice regarding your ex-partner’s contact with your children.
Best wishes,
Lucy
