Hi all,
I wondered if those of you further down the road could offer support. Oh was arrested for communication offence about 10 months ago now. No charge has been brought yet, but he is now being investigated by his work for gross misconduct.
Obviously I understand that a large proportion of men in this situation lose their jobs. I just wondered what happens next? Is there life after this? Can he get another job? Who would actually hire him either with this still pending, or after conviction? Can anyone advise as to the types of jobs that men have been able to get after dismissal and/or conviction?
Thanks x

Construction seems to be your best bet, my ex is now in construction and they don't asks many questions, they know he does community service but they don't ask what for, also he said they is quite a few men that have been convicted of crimes working there, and the money isn't too bad.
Good luck

My partner was at first suspended at work but let goigo duetdue to being in public sector.
He then worked for a materials testing company which gave him flexibility around police interviews and court hearings. He didn't need to disclose he was under investigation and he didn't have a criminal record to disclose yet because he wasn't convicted.
One he was convicted he didn't have to tell his company. He would only need to if they asked. He did have to turn down some jobs due to background checks, thankfully his company never pushed as to why.
My partner now works for a design company using his degree. It is true it can be hard to find jobs that don't ask for conviction history but they are out there. Now he is earning better money and we have stability (even with covid).

Is he being being investigated for gross misconduct in relation to the police investigation? If so how did they find out? They must remember he is innocent until proven guilty unless he has confessed? Stay strong lovely x
