Hi does anyone have any experience or information regarding anonymising name I have seen a few reports where just the initials are used. Who do you ask? What are the criteria for this to happen.

I was told the charged/convicted cannot do this unless they are under 18. It's only the victims that have a right to privacy.

Hi Summer

We too looked into this, but I think it is near impossible to get anonymity for the offender as far as our solicitor has said. The court's only can grant anonymity to victims or under 18's or I think in Civil cases.
It terrifies me and the repercussions to our son.

if you find out otherwise please let us know!
wishing you all the best

I have seen cases in law pages that have thier name anonymised or just the initials these people vary in ages and vary in their offences not many of them I admit but they are there! I have noticed in some cases even if they don't give full name the paper still somehow knows about it
