How many of you ladies were told by the police the likely hood of the outcome of the case and it changed?

We've been told that it's likely to be a caution by the police and the mental health team and I don't think that these types of cases are disclosed to the press?

Obviously under the assumption that nothing else has been found and I have been assured nothing else will be found.

I'm most likely going to be posting a lot more because I am on new medication and it's making me very paranoid and jittery so apologies in advance.

We haven't heard from his lawyer yet... We were told she'd get in contact yesterday but nothing so far... Im not entirely sure how this process works to be honest...

I am praying that because it is his first (Ive been assured his only offence from now) that they'll go with a caution.

Honestly I'm terrified the most that it'll be in the papers/online. In fact I know it will do if he get anything more than a caution and he is summoned to court. We live in a small village with a very active FB community.

The absolute shame, embarrassment and trauma that comes with it, and the judgement of those who characterise you as the perp as well because of the choice you made.

I'm afraid we were told my husband was likely to get a caution (small number of images and first time offence) but this wasn't the case and it went to court.
In terms of media coverage, the pre sentencing hearing at the magistrate court was in the local paper but bizarrely the court case wasn't. One word of advice is to come off social media beforehand so you can't be tagged in any articles. It's hideous but you do get through it xxx

Thanks to both of you for your words of advice...

I'll have to see if it goes go to court then I'll definitely come off of social media... If it does I know that the majority of my family won't talk to me again, they'll judge my decision.

We'll have to move as well.

I'm sorry that yours went to trial/ was advised as a caution but didn't turn out that way.

I really think that it's going to go to court, but that's because I am pessimistic. I always think the worst. We've been told that it very slim to get anything but a caution but I just don't believe it.

It's only been a few days..

I have a private councellor set up next week though and for the foreseeable future so I am hoping I can get some help.

Hi Bellebee

can I ask you if you moved once it was reported in the paper. If you did not move did you have any backlash from people in your area? I ask because my son is home soon and my anxiety is really bad. I'm very worried as to what might happen if people find out about it where we are now living x
