When you are taken in for questioning you are appointed a duty solicitor (if you choose to). My question is when can you appoint your own? They told me but I can't remember? Personally I think solicitors go on the rota for legal aid to get clients. But we'd like a different one to who was appointed that day. I think it's either 3 or 6 months? Anyone know?

Just a follow on question - how do you find a good solicitor who has strong experience in this area? Early days here and husband swears he knows nothing about the allegation (IIOC) so in limbo until police have checked the devices, but I want to be prepared in case he needs a good solicitor.
Thx

Thanks for the reply, good advice. Difficult to know what we're dealing with until the police tell us more. In a horrible limbo situation.
