Nearly a year on and still so down on how this has devastated our lives and also our future, and really struggling to see how life can go on after this. Does Lucy faithlul offer councelling? I need some help but can't afford to pay privately

Hey Devastated,

Have you approached your GP about therapy and counselling? Have you also searched out all therapists? Scanned the field and see how much they charge... Some can often start around £60 but I've seen people who are willing to off £30 per session.

I hope you can find your way and sorry you're here.

Thank you so much for your reply. I have reached out to my GP, I've been given tablets but nothing has been mentioned in the form of therapy, maybe I need to go back and make that suggestion. I have researched private therapist but it just seems so much an hour when I think I could need possibly quite a few sessions. I suppose mental health is a priority so I just need to do it no matter the cost.

thank you again and take care xx

Hi

sorry to hijack this post but I cannot figure out how to start my own post.

ive just read something that I am finding very hard to believe. An article says that child abuse images was searched for EIGHT MILLION times in the first month of lockdown in the uk!!!! Surely that figure cannot be right? X

Hi

im sorry you are feeling like this. I find the support line very good. I think you need specialist counselling and although you can get it through the dr they are not specialists but maybe I've just been unlucky with the one I got. At least if you choose your own (there are 1000s) you know they have a particular specialisum in the area you need. They do range in price from around £30 to over a £100 but sometimes you get what you pay for.

can you open up on here about what you have been through? Maybe you have already? I find people with lived experience are a great source of support.

hope you find what you need x

Hi,

i had 11 free sessions with a Stop so therapist over the phone ( due to lockdown) He was very experienced and had also worked for social services and with offenders in prisons.

It really helped. They have some funding to provide free therapy, I imagine it’s limited but if you email and ask you may be able to access it.
