Do they always end up going to prison?

my husband has cheated on an app to a underage child. Only the once never ask for photo or to meet. He say he can't remember the chat!! So I have no clue but I'm 90% sure there will be no other chat to child or photo. Is it prison time? We have 2 child and I want to be able to give them some idea of what the outcome could be.

Hi, I'm sorry you're going through such a difficult situation.

In answer to your question, no online offences don't always result in prison time. My person's offence was sexual communication with incitement. He admitted his offence at the first opportunity and went on to plead guilty to 3 charges for which he received a 2 year suspended sentence and 10 years on the SOR and a 10 year SHPO.

If you haven't already done so you might want to contact the helpline for support and encourage your person to do the same,

The story was in the paper and on social media twice, once after plea hearing and then again after sentencing. We live in a very small place so anyone who knew him before his plea hearing and sentencing knows what he did. The only good thing about it is that we don't have to try and keep it a secret and can talk openly with people about the fact he's on the SOR with restrictions.
