Hi all,

A quick bit of background. Got the knock in July, my partner had a chat with the officers in our living room and had devices seized for search. No arrest or going into custody. Computer returned within 6-7 weeks with nothing found on it, they still have his phone and as far as we know they haven't even begun searching it yet. He is being investigated for "making" of iioc (downloading).

We were meant to be going on holiday to the USA this year before the knock, which COVID obviously put a stop to, but need to rebook/rearrange as we can't get a refund.

Are there any restrictions on travelling while under investigation? There have been no official charges made, nothing on his record. He's not having to declare anything on job applications. I believe if you are charged and go on the SOR you cannot travel to the USA (ESTA will be declined) - but can't seem to find anything about travel when you're just under investigation.

Will it just be a case of letting the investigating officers know the dates?

Anyone have any advice/experience? TIA! x

Hi LC

We were able to travel to Australia whilst hb was under investigation, investigating officer was advised of dates of travel, we did not have any problems at airports etc.

Best to check cancellation policy also. Like said above you may not get much notice when called to court and you can't postpone to go on holiday. We avoided travel abroad for that reason
