Right royally fed up looking for insurance so many company's ask for convictions info which that's fine but we are not at that stage we are waiting court so pending conviction? Some say this is from an arrest other company's from awaiting sentencing after being guilty.
what happened to Innocent until proven guilty? Plus if you tick yes they want to know the conviction but it's not happened plus how does it double?!
Sorry for the rant just had enough

I'm not sure if it is addressed but unlock.org is useful for all things about convictions and offenders and how to navigate aspects of life that can tricky. I dread the day my partner and I need to have a look. We rent so only contents insurance but tbh I haven't checked to see if we need to disclose or not....our insurance is paid as a rolling contract, they didnt ask for updates after a year.
Check the small print and terms and conditions for any house or car insurance, regardless of what they ask you at renewal time. Many will say you have to tell them within 30 days of a conviction of anyone on the policy or at the address.
if yours says that. Get new insurance first, then contact your existing company and cancel it yourself. You don't have to give them a reason why, but if you call them to tell them of a conviction you'll probably find you have your insurance cancelled and then you'll have to declare you have had a policy cancelled.
For house insurance - try Home Protect, they are an old style insurance broker and will offer house insurance to those with convictions. Just expect to pay double the price that you'd pay going via a price comparison site.
For car insurance, there are quite a few companies that only ask about motoring offences. There is a list on unlock.org but not sure how up to date it is.

Thanks everyone I've just insured with lv they only ask about unspent convictions and nothing in small print about pending prosecutions. If and when the day comes I will change again like you said. You are right lots of policy's say you must inform them if change of curmstsnce some within 30 days some at renewal x
Thanks for reminding us Summer! I need to look into this now :/
