Bail Granted!

hi all,
i havent been active on this forum for a while as, with time, the nerves and shock start to settle.
it's been 4 weeks today since the knock and my brother's arrest and we have heard today that he is being released on bail!
for the first 2 weeks we had no contact with him which was hell, but he managed to get in contact with us eventually and we spoke to him everyday. the prison system is so corrupt which i knew before this, but never quite understood until we were part of the system. he was in isolation for 3 weeks, but no one told him when he could be let out, all his information was coming from us. he and his cellmate went a week without clean underwear and his cellmate often went without medication. they are treated worse than animals, with many people not hvaing even been charged yet! let alone been proven guilty.
anyway, this has been the hardest 4 weeks of my life, and i wanted to say thank you to everyone who replied to my first post. i cannot explain how much better i felt after reading your supportive words and learning how similar your stories were. it grounded me when everything was up in the air.
we are so lucky to have him home for christmas, and i know that the journey is only just beginning, but the absence of him was the hardest of it all.
i hope you all have good news soon, i'm sure i'll be back on this forum soon, but untl then, i'm just going to cuddle him and laugh at his horribly outgrown bleached hair.

Hello Billion
Thank you for reaching out for support and providing the forum with an update on your situation. It is really positive to hear that not only have your nerves and shock settled, but also that you were able to have Christmas with your brother. I noticed that your post has not yet received a response from other forum users and in the meantime I wanted to be able to acknowledge your post and thank you for posting this positive update. It can be helpful for others to be able to see the hard and the good times so thank you for providing this information. I am sorry to hear about the awful experience your brother has had, and I hope that since being released he has been able to have some positive experiences, and make some positive changes. I am happy you have found the forum so helpful during these difficult times, and I hope your posts may offer others similar support.
Take care,
Lucy

Hi Billion
your post is quite old with no replies from the ladies which is unusual. I think we miss a lot of new posts owing to the way they are now moderated.
It must have been a huge relief to have your brother home for Christmas. I agree with your comments about the prison. They are very corrupt and petty. My son has some sort of issue with them every single week. This week it's about underwear and socks. I paid twenty pounds for boxers and socks and sent them into him. They opened them in front of my son and them they got sent to the laundry as anything that gets sent in must go through the prison laundry before the prisoner gets them. That's the last he saw of them. I'm told I can make a claim but it takes about a yearforthemto deal with giving me my money back!!!
our son was also meant to be home for Christmas but he never made it owing to an error on the prisons part. Now he has a date for the meeting to come home at the start of feb. The prisons teach men or women absolutely nothing at all.
im so pleased your brother is home and I hope he gets a good outcome when it's all dealt with x
