We had a visit last Monday from the social worker. She was very happy and spoke at length to me and my son. She told me there and then she will be closing the case. What happens now?. I asked her if I'll get confirmation of this in writing and she said yes. I've not had anything yet, do I chase it up or just not bother and wait?. From what I see on here they don't do things very fast so maybe a week isn't long at all.Starting to get a lot of paranoia about SS after all the stuff I've read on here. I mean our experience was very positive but you know how the mind works eh!

Ss closed our case after doing an assessment.

She confirmed on the phone and sent the assessment by email and that was it. Just said on the assessment that the case was closed however advised that while under investigation all contact must be supervised. If charged the case would reopen and if not then go on as normal

I was lucky with my sw as well as she did everything quickly and did close the case but she did warn me if the advisories were not followed they could reopen the case and put on cin or cpp. Felt like a bit of a threat but as everything else was quick and ok just let it go.

Thanks love, I think I'll just wait for them to do the paperwork to be honest. I'm nervous with anything to do with SS after everything on here. We are doing everything exactly what she wanted, well mainly she just said to carry on abiding by the bail conditions and we are.

Tell me about it. Even though its been closed for since sept I still feel like they'll pop up or dread if a charge or outcome comes as they'll be back as well.

Hope it continues to go OK for you all!

To be honest the common theme in police investigations can take along long time! My son potentially will be nearly 17 and daughter 19! So Id imagine SW would look at it in a different way. I dunno it's hard isn't it

We had our SS call the day after the knock, due to Covid it was done on the phone. He had a quick WhatsApp call with the kids afterwards. Exactly a week later I had a visit from a SW who spoke to the girls about inappropriate behaviour, she said she was really happy they knew what was right and wrong. The main SW called my husband for a conversation then after that I was told the case was closed. He is not allowed to live here, calls and visits must be supervised. They couldn't have been nicer, it was all far easier than I had expected. If he is charged then it will be reopened as I have 2 girls aged 9 and 11. I've not heard anything else for 7 or 8 weeks.
