Suspended sentence Scotland?

Hi I read a comment on here saying we don't get suspended sentences in Scotland so does that mean jail is the only possibility

I am also in Scotland and many people do get suspended sentences here for images. Suspended sentences here are rare for communication offences but images is suspended sentence or community service a lot of the time x

I can categorically tell you that many sex offenders in Scotland get suspended sentences and/or community service. My son had a cell mate who was on remand and he got suspended sentence when he went to court and my son obviously never saw him again because his personal things were stored at reception just in case he did not get jail time. It's all down to the judge on the day x
