Can anyone who has used one of these give me a little more detail on how it works please?

My partner was interviewed by the police once in september last year with no solicitor. He has now had his letter through to appear at the magistrates court in early march (possession of 1 cat b image and 190 cat c images).

I'm not sure where he needs to start in terms on a legal aid solicitor as we don't have any money to hire one ourself? the letter from the court mentions it but is vague. It basically reads like if you had no legal representation previously there will be one at the magistrates court who may be able to assist you?

I'm panicing a bit about the whole thing as I don't know what we do from here?

Hi Lee

Thanks for the response, I will tell him this.

If i phone round solicitors in the area though, won't they be chargeable? Can I use one of these through legal aid or should I contact the court?

Hi

Both my husband and myself had to give details to the solicitor regarding legal aid as she's the one applying for it for him.

We had to both give our bank details, both national insurance numbers, details of any vehicle's we had ( we dnt have any) I had to also mention I was on universal credit.

Solicitor did apologise for all the details but she said legal aid are very nosey. So she's quietly confident legal aid will be granted
