Just wondering if people were willing to tell me there outcomes after court? And what they were investigating for. I understand all cases are different and it can be down to the Judy working that day. But when I google it there is no real out come and it really makes me wonder what people get as u never read online about the cases that do get drop or cps not taking it on.
My partner was arrested for publishing of a obsense article,, he got 15 month sentence he did 3 months on remained and 4 left to serve and 12 months probation,, awaiting clarity on any order case solicitor and court transcript saying there are not there,, and a fine to pay of 156 pound But defo down to the judge on the day.
My ex got 32 months for arranging to meet (was a police sting), grooming and receiving indecent image - was reduced as he put in a guilty plea.

my son communicated with a girl of between fourteen and fifteen years old. Her parent knew about it. Our son had spoken to them on video call many times and invited him over for the weekend. Thankfully my son declined. He never asked to meet the girl and never did meet her. He had pictures on his phone of her but it was proven he had not asked her or coerced her into sending them. He was not charged with grooming but he was charged with a communication offence and of having indecent photos of her on his phone. He was sentenced to just over four years in prison. It was a first offence so quite harsh in my opinion but there was and is nothing I can do about it. People lose all control over their rights and lives the day they go to prison. Prison is a joke. It's supposed to rehabilitate people but it does not and here is why.
my son was meant to be sent on a course in prison to address what he's done. Time went by and by with no course. Fast forward to three months ago and our son I then has not long left in prison. It's at thus point he got told he was number 147 on the waiting list in prison for courses!!!!!! So, now when he is released very soon, there will not be enough time for him to get the course out here because you ca n only get the course on the outside if you have enough time left on licence to finish the course!!! Due to a blunder about whe our son would be released (five months late, we are taking legal action) he now won't have e nough time to do the course! Prisison is nothing but a joke.x

Two year suspended sentence, ten year on SOR and SHPO, 200 hours community service- for possession and distribution of iioc and animal images
I would add I was convinced he was going to prison, I don't know what made the judge decide otherwise. We had character references and he had done the inform course.

Thank u for sharing ur info with me. I'm shock how different they all are and don't really understand how photos get less then Communication. It's a very scary world we live in and makes me worry so much what my husband outcome will be.

I know exactly what you mean about not understanding all the different charges and why communication is treated more harshly than videos and vica versa. Way back when our son was charged I made the classic mistake of reading what people were getting for video and images and thinking my son would get similar. Not true. Majority of men who view images and videos don't go to prison here. They get suspended sentences etc unless it's thousand and thoudpsands. The day my son was sentenced it was such a shock at the amount of prison time he got I fainted in the court. I had expected my son to get suspended sentence or small prison time but what actually happened was the opposite. He got a king prison sentence. The whole thing is a minefield and really does just depend on the judge on the day x

My husband had 5 year SOR, 5 year SHPO, 3 years with probation, 100 hours community service and an £80 fine. No suspended sentence or anything like that.
He was convicted of hundreds of images in each category,1 distribution and beastiality.
I don't obviously know how true it is but when I spoke to his solicitor,he said to me (prior to sentencing) that if it's just images then it's not custodial but if it's physical then it definitely would be. Obviously with a physical offence then there is that 'higher risk'.
I'm shocked with how different each place/county decide to deliver there sentencing.

He said he viewed pictures that was sent to him but the police never found these. He received an 18 week suspended sentence for 12 months. £180 fine. 6 weeks or so after court the police took him back there and slapped him with an 8 year SHPO.
Vickie, i can't believe the difference in your sentence compared to mine. It's shocking. According to LFF and the solicitor, this charge is really rare and I haven't heard of anyone else charged with the same. I'm assuming it was the same sort of chat?

My husband got charged with: possession and making 9 cat A images, 7 cat B images and 7 cat C images. 106 prohibited images and a conversation with an under cover police man where he encouraged porn to be watched when children were in the same room. He pleaded guilty and got 18 months. Will serve 9 inside and 9 on licence.
