Dealing with people knowing when you stay together

Please can anyone offer any advice. I am a nervous wreak at the moment. The court case hit the local online papers a couple of months ago for 15 iioc and since I am so paranoid of neighbours reactions towards my children. We are still togeather in the same house because my children have lives here and work and school friends. I have no idea how many people know and it is driving me crazy. One of my daughters friends told her their mum had shown them the article yesterday and said they wouldn't say anything but they are 14 so I know how hard it is at that age to keep a secret.
has anyone stayed and neighbours found out and what was their reactions.

The constant unknown in this is so hard. Seems like in one way or another our lives are always dependant on the choices of others, our husbands, the police, social services, media, friends and family, the public.......
I really hope the girl keeps it a secret. Why would the mum show her, surely there can't be a good reason for it. Why would you want your daughter to know that these crimes exist before adulthood.

I stayed with my husband and our neighbours on both sides know.
One side has just totally ignored us since, they haven't said a word to either of us at all.
We had a little more trouble with the other side as the lady used to say rude things to my husband when she saw him. She never said anything to me though. When my husband had enough he reported her to the police who called her and spoke to her and she's not said anything since.
We were never close to our neighbours anyway, we used to say hello now and again when we saw each other but nothing more than that really so it doesn't feel like a loss to us
