Sadly not lies :( and it's a local press article giving details of the court conviction and crime for 15 iioc. Worried about the inpact on my children as one of the neighbours has already seen it but so far her child has just asked my daughter about it and been ok but I'm worried about others seeing it and the impact of them. My eldest daughter works at the local school and I'm worried people will discriminate against her as well :(

Lado informed the school as soon as he was arrested so they are aware and have not mentioned it since but as it's a small village and reputation is important to them if people start making a fuss this could change that especially as we are still together and he is still living here.
im just scared that someone will react and my children will be discriminated against.
I know lots of people move but I feel this would be horrible for them as they have strong social lives here :(.

thank you, it really helps to hear others. It was online in January but my daughters friend seen it yesterday so not sure and who else has seen it. My daughters are 14 and 21 and they would be devestated if it become public knowledge. My eldest hasn't told anyone and wants to keep it that way and until yesterday my youngest was the same but now her friend knows she is worried about others finding out.
I think they would resent us so much if we had to move and I think my eldest especially. It is so horrible how they are the ones who stand to lose the most. My hubby is also so remourseful and feels so bad about everything and scared of losing them.
I just want to crawl under a bush and never come out but I know I can't. I don't care about people knowing as long as they don't cause any upset to my girls as we keep ourself to ourself and are happy to continue like that. But my youngest has lots of friends in the village and I'm worried there parents will react badly.

Thank you I have spoke to my daughter about her speaking to her school so hopefully she does as I agree it will help. Hope you don't mind if I ask a personal question. How have your neighbours reacted towards your children. I am worried some of the parents will stop their children speaking to my younger child??

Just thought I'd share my experience of getting news reports and photos removed from google.
My husbands appearance at the magistrates court was in 3 local papers last summer (along with his photo) I've recently contacted the editors of all three papers and asked them to remove the story now that we are 9 months down the line. I cited that these articles have had a huge impact on my children's lives and that I want them to be able to move on. Two of the papers agreed to remove the articles completely and one agreed to remove his photo along with the name of the road in which we live. Once the articles have been removed or amended, I've then contacted google and his photo has been removed too from search results (you have to go through a quick process called removing outdated content). Now there are no photos of him if you search via google (I think they may well be on other search engines but I'm not too worried about these)

Google will remove the link to the news story (if it's been removed by the original newspaper) or an image (if the image is no longer in the article) pretty quickly - my requests were all dealt with within 24 hours. I've been pleasantly surprised by the compassion I've been shown by the newspaper editors actually and all three were willing to help in some way... I think though that they realise that months down the line it's not really a public interest story. I suspect I wouldn't have got anywhere if I had tried much earlier...

Hi that is very interesting. Can I ask if the article gets amended does it then get republished as an amendedment. I'm worried if it gets amended it will be on their current news page again. Thank you so much
This sounds so positive were 8 months in post sentence I to would like to remove from Google and understand you have to write to news editor first.
Only the other week, someone wanted to know why I come off social media and then found out. So they must of Google our names and then text me to say they read something disturbing online.
Could I ask how you started the email/ letter.

I just found out the names of the editors and wrote a very polite email asking them if they are able to help me. My teenager has had some mental health issues recently and has expressed suicidal ideation so I mentioned this and talked about the massive impact that these articles have had on my children and how I was desperate for them to be able to move on with their lives. Only one refused to remove it completely but was willing to remove the photo and reference to our street name (better than nothing!) However I really did get some lovely responses which was surprising.
Once this is done, you then need to go about removing the content from google but that was the easy bit.
Please give it a go.....I'm so pleased I did....

No it didn't get republished as an amendment - just the one old article has been amended so the date of the article is still last summer.
