I left my husband just over three years ago & five years since my house was raided & consequently he was on trial & convicted of sharing images of teenagers on line. I stayed in the family home until is conviction for the sake of my two boys. Post conviction with no jail sentence & with his mental abuse of him saying it was my fault I left the family home for my own sanity. My question is three years since I have started divorce proceedings & £6k later I am still in the position that he continues to delay & be diffucult in the process of settling our divorce. How come I & my children are victims & it feels in the legal process he holds all the cards ? Maybe I have the wrong solictor ? I have forced him in to a court date. How come I feel like the law is not on my side ? How come I have spent £6k so far with no outcome because he ignores evevery communication. Am very worried for women in my position who don't have jobs finance to be able to try & move on. Any advice welcome - thankyou.

Hi KatieO,

It is positive to see that you have felt able to use this forum as a source of support during such a difficult time. I can see that other forum users have not yet replied to your post and hopefully other users who have been in a similar situation or who are able to offer some advice may reply soon. Finding out that a loved one has been involved in such offences can be very difficult to cope with and the legal system can be difficult to navigate. I wonder if you have considered ringing our helpline for some support and advice? The helpline number is 0808 1000 900 and is anonymous, confidential and free to phone. You will be able to discuss your concerns and situation further with a helpline advisor. I would also encourage you to continue speaking with your solicitor for any legal advice. If you wish to explore your options further around finding a specialised solicitor, then you may wish to go through the Law Society: https://www.lawsociety.org.uk/en where you will be able to find a solicitor by speciality and location. Although we can not vouch for them, other people who we have spoken with on the helpline have found them to be helpful.

I hope this information has been helpful.

Take care,

Lucy
