Hello

I need my dbs renewed and just wondered if my husband's conviction will show up?

Theres a section on the form saying any additional info which police can decide to add details. He's not registered at my address however on his sor form hes put that he visits the family home more than 12 hours in one time as that covers weekends if he visits and sometimes stays a while.

Hi Rainbow

I don't think it will we have just done anDBS for my daughter and it was okay. My son is an offender and lives with us . So I am confindent that it will be fine.

If you work with children or vulnerable adults they may have to do an additional test I think its call a LOT ? This is to see you can continue work in that environment. Tbey had to do one for me.

Hi

Well I am waiting to see what happens, I personally was expecting a call from the police sges ago, then I forgot about it. 6 months down the line and then they suddenly they ring me to say they have to complete this form and submit it to determine whether i can continue in my role. i never see children but I do hold consultations with adults. They reassured me that it should not be a problem as he is my son. What I didn't ask was what is the next step, so I am still waiting. Sorry to be so vague, i wish I could remember what it was called, I know that other partners of offenders that are teachers have gone through this and they have been suspended for short while and their employers have had to be informed and if all okay they have returned to work.

do you work with vulnerable adults/children?

Hello the association part was dropped a while ago.

I work with children and haven't had a problem with my enhanced DBS checks.

My husband lives at home.

Thanks mum of 3. I'm worried it will come up in the additional info bit but if it did then I would appeal saying he doesnt live with me because it's not fair and he doesn't live with me so it shouldnt be put on there.

I understand it might be different for teachers but I do office work in a school so in my opinion I'm not directly working with children.

This is another stress to add to us! X
