Hello,

I hope you're all well.

How long do forensics take to search a device once the work has begun on it? Does anyone know?

Thank you

Hi colourful

It took the police in our area 2 years and 4 months to get from first arrest to sending out charges via mail. The knock for us was in Jul 2018. My H is in prison now and is half way through his sentence. It will be in total 4 years from knock to when his sentence is over! According to the DC the investigation kept being put at the bottom of the pile because my H wasn't high risk, but they still sent him to jail after torchering him and the family for over 2 years with uncertainty and waiting. The justice system is seriously flawed and I couldn't be angrier at it all. Remember though waiting time differs so much from area to area as does sentencing too. If charges are made, make sure a good solicitor is involved.
All the best to you

Hi Colourful,

I think the speed of case is assessed on risk and area e.g contact offence or no contact offence, if they are repeat offender or not and any previous convictions and how quickly the area they live can deal with it.

Next month it's a year into this journey.

CPS have had it since Jan and 2nd interview was March, not yet heard back on charging decision.

What parts of the country do you all live in to get the timeles you are getting? Whe are in the south, Berkshire Hampshire Surrey area and we're 7 months in... Nothing yet. I am hoping for no longer than a year purely so I can get my head straight on everything.

Hiya.

Does anybody live in Sussex.

Wondering how long it takes in Sussex as where Hubby lives.

The police said at the time to him that he would take around 3 months.

I don't believe it myself nor does hubby

We are Hampshire Surrey Sussex border but Hampshire police have the case. Almost 8 months in. Just got a 2nd device back today but no updates on case except letters saying devices no longer required. Limbo is hell. He is denying it all, first offence, no contact communication offence. Stay strong and keep doing life until one day we get to actually enjoy it again.

If devices have come back have they been returned to you ? If so then there's no evidence on them otherwise they'd be kept and destroyed x

Hiya team.

Thank you for the lovely replies.

Hubby rung soliceters yesterday and said he would chase the Police.

All he keeps saying ' it's gonna be a long journey' which hubby then stormed off.

Yes we got letters saying they could be collected as no evidence on them. They still have the mobile phone which they found IIOCs on.
