Hi everyone!

Sensitive question, but has anyone's loved one, friend, partner etc been put on the Uk Database? x

I'm not really sure how the UK database website works. I believe it is made up of cases that hit the media mostly because it isn't run by an 'offical' organisation. But these types of offences are in part in the public domain ie court details. My partner isn't on there last time I checked

Yes mine is on there. If you are talking about the website publicing cases. I've not looked for a long time, I think it's better for your mental health not to look at such sites, by looking you also get them ranked higher in search engines. I do think this site could be considered against GDPR. Although it simply plagerizes publically available articles. It calls itself a database, and makes a big deal about organizing by place and name. So it may be violating the "You cannot keep a comprehensive register of criminal convictions, unless you do so in an official capacity" par of GDPR.

But in reality, I don't think the ICO or anyone will help.

Hi

just to clarify, uk database IS NOT an official government site. Uk database is run by vigilante groups who choose to add names to it. It's got nothing whatsoever to do with any government officials. It's a hit and a miss whether the vigilantes read about your case and add it on their stupid sit. X

Id also like to add please please avoid looking at this site and any other disgusting vigilante sites. They are not ran by any sort of official government group or a charity or actually anything with any worth!. They are vile, lowlife scum and are just there for the glory and the likes on Facebook etc. They are not a professional body of experts and they do nothing but mess with your vulnerabilities especially as a partner and wife. We haven't been effected personally by a vigilante group but I know a lot of ladies on here have via their partners and husbands. Please steer clear!

I feel I have hit a nerve and I am sorry I never intended to. I was just simply confiding in people to see if they had experienced the same as I. A friend told me someone had mentioned to them my partner was on there. I am not encouraging people in anyway to visit the site, just asking if this has happened to other people.
I have been harassed and terrorised on social media and mine and my young children's names discussed publicly in a forum for which I had to take police action.

A family member even went to court and filmed my husband being put in the van while shouting "we hope you get raped!" The video was put on YouTube and my son saw it. I am fully aware of what viglianties are Capable of and would not support it in anyway. It was just a simple question.

Hi Blue

Im sorry if you feel you've hit a nerve. I don't think you have. My comment was only to make sure you knew that up database was not an official site because I felt you were under the impression it was a live official sit. I don't think anyone took what you said to heart. I think other comments were likely made just to reassure you that they have no legal status on that site. That said, I've yet to meet anyone on here who has any good words for those vigilante groups. The vigilantes, press and sone of the general public are just ignorant. They say and do things that causes innocent family members the most horrendous stress, terror and upset as your case yet again demonstrates, Thise groups should really be closed down but that can't happen now because of the big court case about them last year. They were given the go ahead to keep going vpbecause a judge deemed that the offenders human rights could be taken away because it's a child related crime. Some on uk database have a picture of the offender and some font. I don't know if my son is on there because I pe never looked. I'm not sure I'd want to know because coming through it being all over our local paper was bad enough without knowing the whole thing is circulating elsewhere . This whole process is the hardest thing I've ever been through. It was made far worse from the press reporting it and it doing the rounds on social media. I've never had social media so never read any of it but my daughter has it. She came of it for a while because of all the stuff going around it but she's now back on it. I'd advise not to read what people are putting on the internet if you can help it because I suspect it contributes to making the process harder to deal with. I hope you keep posting and don't feel that you've offended or upset anyone as this site is a good place to get advice where there are not judgments made x
