Bail after charges?

Hello,
My partner was arrested in March for sexual communication with a police decoy, and has been on conditional bail ever since.
We've been told the police are looking at his devices right now, and his bail is due to be answered on 29th June. He's already fully admitted everything in interview, and is adamant there is nothing on his devices except the conversation.
does anyone know if he would be likely to be taken into custody/prison when he's charged? Or will it just be bail again?
He doesn't currently live with us as I gave birth in May, but he lives alone and the police have all details and updated bail.etc
I'm just terrified they will take him away when they charge him :(

Once charged it will go to court. First magistrates and likely crown. It isnt always certain if it will be a prison sentence tho. Some get suspended, others placed in custody.
One thing to five you a heads up tho is that offenders can go from being on bail to under investigation, rather than directly charged. It might be a quicker process for your child's father but in many cases this offences can be anything from a few months to a couple of years before charges are made.
I say to prepare for the worst but hope for the best
Big hugs

Thanks majestic, I know it will go to court but I was worried that they would put him in custody whilst we wait for it to get there but after the charges have been brought. Solicitor says it's unlikely because he's been abiding by bail.etc
Im just hoping we can get through the next stage this side of Christmas :(

My OH was charged and placed on magistrate's bail. Then two or three weeks later he attended court for his plea hearing and pleaded guilty, and I thought he'd be placed on remand, but he wasn't. He got bail again until his sentencing four weeks later. The magistrate said he was at high risk of reoffending at sentencing but why was he not remanded between his plea hearing and sentencing? I think every court acts in different ways, sadly.
