Magistrates Court

Hi, my partner has magistrates Court in about an hour, he is charged with 1000 images 7 cat a 50 b the rest c, his solicitor has said after this there will be pre sentencing reports the Crown court in 4 weeks time, or possibly magistrates again which has confused me because I thought we would know what we would be dealing with in 4 weeks and hope it won't take longer, he has already lost his job, how easy is it to find employment with this on on record, do you always have to disclose it, he has a son and his exwife is being supportive, do visits remain supervised for a long time after sentencing, thank you for reading, my head is spinning this morning and no where else to turn
Thanks again
Thanks again
Hi emmie.
In some cases the judge may feel the sentencing can be at the magistrate court rather than crown. Today I assume is the plea hearing. Then it takes a few weeks for the pre sentence report.
Supervised visitation will be based likely on the outcome of a sexual harm protection order. So hard to say what will happen.
In regards to jobs, you only need to disclose the sentence if asked or the contract says you need to. My partner has a good job where they never asked and was signed off as ok with probation. But should be mindful of jobs that might ask for background checks later on in the role.
