Can my son have kids?

I just wanted to know if my son can have children without SS involvement after he's off SOR and his conviction is fully spent? Can he have children and normal life after it's spent?
Hi JH,
I'm sorry I can't answer your question. I think the best place to ask this is the Family Rights Group. Either using their online parents forum or call them on their free helpline.

My ex husband had a conviction before we met. We went on to have a child together 12 years after his conviction - zero involvement from children's services. Until his second offence came to light, that is :( we married, he had a very good job and a mortgage, child, dog, car...
Your son can go on to lead a pretty normal life if he keeps on the straight and narrow! There is hope xxx

My partner's probation officer asked if him and I want kids and it was explained that my partner has already had the snip. The PO said he could always get it reversed, which tbh isn't needed since I personally don't want kids. I thought it was a bit strange but the PO said that it is possible to have kids with no involvement of SS later down the line. But I'm not sure it is guaranteed. In theory it would only be an issue if there are reoffending
I know his mistake was a one-off error of judgment. I'm not downplaying it but I know from who he is and how much this has shaken him he'd never re-offend. So once he's spent the conviction and off the SOR you're all saying it's likely he could go on to have children without SS being informed and getting their noses in? I just want him to have a future after this horrible mistake.
