Hi, could anyone help my partner had magistrates Court 2 weeks ago and has sentencing in 2 weeks, he still hasn't heard from his probation officer, his solicitor said it can sometimes take this long and when his police case officer came out she said she would chase this up, with only 2 weeks to go we are both concerned about this, is this usual, his barrister said to prepare character references whobdo we give those too is this the probation officer

Thanks for reading

Hi Lee1969, thanks for getting back to me, I'll get him to chase it up with solicitor, it is stressful after thinking I was doing ok I'm falling apart a bit, we don't live together which helps abit, on another issue me son is 31 and my partner sees him very occasionally, I've just had a thought he's a secondary school teacher would he have to be told, it would be very easy for my partner not to see him as he lives in another city, hadn't thought of it before my head is spinning, my partner lives and looks after his elderly dad so he won't be moving in anytime soon, will the police or probation officer need to speak to m, they know about me

Thanks for reading I really appreciate it

No your son wouldn't need to be notified, it's not through association anymore.

Take care x

Thanks for getting back to me,i have 2 grown up children, neither has children, with no plans as yet I understand that if they did they would most likely have to be notified, I was concerned about my sons job, as my partner and I live apart in different places their contact is minimal, this situation just throws up more and more questions and uncertainty, 2 weeks tomorrow till crown court, by we get there I think this will have been the longest month of my life, I'm trying to sort out moving house all at the same time, my head may shortly explode, my partners solicitor said just deal with one problem at a time don't get too far ahead with different scenarios and it's good advice just hard to stick too sometimes
