Hey Sam

i don't have any experience with this but one thing that occurred to me while reading your post is that, if the devices are shared between family, then someone in the family has got to have downloaded them? Is the investigation extended to the other people who have access to them, or is it only your friend under investigation?

hope you're ok, it's a confusing time for all of us x

I'm assuming they will have looked at all the devices in the house. If there are images on his phone plus shared computer/laptop then I'm assuming they will have put two and two together. Im assuming they will also have looked at the ages of the other people in his house too if he lives with his 67 year old mum and a 5 year old daughter then that's different from him living with 3 other men his own age. I'd also assume he's given the names of the other people in his house and they'd be investigated. If there's an image from 2pm on a Tuesday which was looked at through the IP address at home and one of the other people can prove they were at work/school then I'm assuming they'd be ruled out. If they don't have proof CPS will struggle in court.
