Havnt been on for a little while but hope everyone is doing as well as can be.
I was just wondering if anyone has been successful in asking Google to remove there search facility regarding your hubby,partner,son and if so how did you do it ?
Any advice is much appreciated x

Hi Becky,
I would say you might be best to contact unlock charity who have very good expertise in this area. In terms of the right to be forgotten it is pretty much impossible to have google/yahoo or bing search results blocked (they are never removed under the right to be forgotten under EU law the search engines simple block access to the article via there search engines to people based in the UK or the EU, any were eles in the word they could be accessed) while the conviction is unspent as they will say that it is in the public interest, even after the conviction is spent due to the nature of the offence they will still say its in the public interest. Once the conviction is spent and if they still give this answer then you could then complain to the Information Commissioners office and they will then make the decission if the article should be blocked or not.
As i said your best to call the unlock charity as they have a lot of information on this issues, one thing they do advise that i have seen on there website is dont get drawn in by these companies online that offer to get the inforamtion removed and charge you loads of money they will only be doing something you can do your self for free.

There is someone on here who done it, they emailed the papers and then managed to get it off Google. Hopefully their see this and help you.
I keep looking to do it, written the email to the paper I just need to be brave to press send.

So I have seen the online article about my son ! I want you to either state the truth or remove it. Do you not ever think about the family this has happened too ? About what potentially could happen to a family.
My son didn't sought out videos he was sent them through an app,and although he viewed the video it was a few minutes not the whole time of your said minutes same as the images these were sent !!!He didn't ever search fgs, if my 15 y/o daughter gets any backlash from this I will sue you for slander, please remove my home address . It was 400 images for crying out loud, people get away with thousands. Hardly a story when so many men are doing this now is it. The stats of this are 750 - 1000 men are arrested per month for this if you reported all these you wouldn't be reporting any other news . Maybe you need to report on how it affects a family and no support instead you may just sell a few more copies. The only reason this article will recieve comments is because it will hit social media, your paper is a disgrace !! My 15 y/o daughter is suicidal as it is without having to have to find out about this from friends and social media!!!. Yes my son did the unspeakable do you not think we've paid enough ? I am sending you a copy of a newspaper article maybe you could read up on what this does to a family ? A reputable newspaper that want to understand!

It hit on Tuesday and they have removed today. I am still planning on taking it further. Yes they have free speech but not stating facts is not correct. Where I live is a tiny place only 30 houses so it wouldn't take long for someone to work out where I lived. X

Thank you for the reply, I will take a look on there. I totally understand what your saying which is fine. I'm not so bothered about Google as I was about social media, my son will be changing his name so eventually there will be no trace just think its harsh x what's also crazy is my ex went into papers for nearly killing one of his children but you never see it on Google how is that even right. Ok it did happen 19 years ago so maybe that's it .. never mind no photo so thats a bonus. X

Hi Chelsea 1, if going to the newspapers direct you have to contact the data protection officer for that publication and it will be them that makes the decission.
In terms of search engines if you read my post above, the information is not removed it is just blocked from anyone in the UK or the EU viewing it.
If you are successful in getting something removed directly from the newspapers, and when goggled it shows a dead link then you can report the dead link to google and they would normally remove the dead link.
One but of advice i would give, just be very careful if contacting owners of social media pages or owners of websites, i make reference to the well known one run by the so called Vigilantes out there (UK Database) that if you try to have the information removed they republish it as much as they can and post it all over social media again
