Does anyone know if there is a difference between 'Indecent Images of Children' and 'Child Sex Abuse Images' or are they the same thing? Or does it come down to category? Just that the police used the latter when they rang me.
I still don't know what has gone on and my son continues to plead his innocence.

Hi Betty, the Police use different terminology but it's all Indecent Images of Children, shortened to IIOC in court.
Images are then categorised into levels of seriousness as assessed by the police. It's only a Judge or Jury can officially categorise them as 'fact' but more often than not after some discussion betwen prosecution and defence they are agreed and rarely shown to a jury.
Categories are from A to C with A being the most serious.
Hope that helps.
