Heya all,

So I've had a look at my local area IIOC cases to gauge sentencing outcomes and it seems that I've had a brain ping...

A particular case was 2.5 years from start to sentencing in crown court... This was my local Area in Hampshire/Surrey area so...

Might help you all to gauge POTENTIAL timings ... This is by no means a scientific method but it may help ease some of your worries about timing ...

I'm Hampshire and we're 2 months shy of 2 years. Still no charges, 16months RUI, been with CPS 7 months now. This is just my new normal now, dunno what my life was before, well I do, I remember it fondly but it's not my present or my future although we'll get back to that place or better some day. X

Hi black hound

Yes I was going to ask same as Mabel.

I think here in northwest cases around 18 months to 2 years. I've seen a few in the news and they are just getting cases that are in 2019 into court. So I'm now preparing for 2 years at least.

Mindful and Mabel,

Its just my own personal theory if I am honest... I am using it as a guideline to give me an estimes of anything from 18 months to 30 months from start to charges decided and charged.

I have been looking at the local papers and reading where it says an arrest was made and counting the months to the present day. So for example if someone was arrested in 2019 January and charged today It would have been 31 months from start to 'finish' does that help at all?

Stting with he CPS for seven months is horrible...

Did the arresting officer give any indication of what your partner would get ? We may have had the same person and he told my partnerhe would hopefully receive a caution if everything he was telling them aligned and they found nothing further.

This is just my new normal now, dunno what my life was before, well I do, I remember it fondly but it's not my present or my future although we'll get back to that place or better some day.

I really feel that you've encapsulated a lot of the lives of the families here with this... Unfortunately it is a new normal... I too hope that one day things will be better for us both...

We seem to have been lucky if that's the word, only 10 months between the knock and crown court, we where told by solicitor that he would expect a suspended sentence, which is what he received, however it all depended in the judge on the day
