Hi Everyone,
I wanted to know if anyone has been able to find any support groups for people like us in their area? I am finding it difficult finding people to talk to and posts seem to get lost on here. Does anyone know of any on facebook or anything? I have no idea where to start.

Hi there,
I'm afraid I don't know of any support groups - and I think that's one of the hardest things for those of us who find ourselves in this position. Drugs/alcohol/gambling - all somehow socially acceptable with no end of resources. But this is so taboo that it's almost impossible to find help outside this website and it makes it very isolating. Even our family doctor had no idea where we could get help. My son is seeing a counsellor who specialises in this field and I've had a couple of sessions too.
Everyone on this forum is incredible; you'll find support and help on anything and everything.

I don't know of any but I would really like to start something up, because I think we get forgotten about and we get treated sometimes worse than the offenders xx
