If the worst does come and the likes of UK data base put the story from the news papers on there, my advice is stay clear of them and do not contact them, they are a group of vigilantes and thugs and it is known that if anyone contacts them about removing the article then they does there best ot make sure is re published all over the place they are not nice people and do not care about family members and are just in it for themselves

I hadn't heard of these. One of my main fears when I decided to give things a go with my partner, after he'd told me all about his past, was the possibility of him being targeted and attacked and possibly me too. We've been together over a year and everything has been wonderful but this week his home was targeted and vandalised, graffiti all over his walls, windows smashed. It's just so unbelievably horrible. We don't know whose done it but someone obviously found out where he lived or about his past. It's not a recent thing, his sentencing and the media around it was about 6 years ago now. I will stick by him and support him all the way, he is a changed man, a good man, but I'll admit I'm now more worried about my own safety and property in case the same people discover he's now staying with me. It's heartbreaking when someone has genuinely done the work, turned their life around, and is just trying to get on with leading a positive life

Yes he reported it to the police straight away. They boarded it up and gave him a crime number but essentially admitted there was probably nothing else they could/would do. The police were pretty good to be fair, at least polite and helpful. And he's informed probation etc. They are all ok with everything and him staying with me. Just been back with him to get some things and some of the graffiti was still there which was horrible to see. He feels so bad for me being affected by his past. But I can't believe people will still behave in this thuggish way based on gossip or old gutter press headlines. We're very open and honest with each other but I'm trying not to let him know how much I worry it might just follow him here to my home. But I knew all of these things might be a possibility when I decided to give us a chance. It just feels unfair and very sad. I hope no one else on here ever goes through this.

after this, he's actually said he might consider changing his name. Has anyone else ever gone through that process?

Cannot still understand it after 6 years.

As for the name change haven't a clue more people here might be in a better position.

Big ((hugs)) xx
