Hi all,

Firstly thank you for all the previous posts they've been a great comfort in such a difficult time.

We had a knock at the door a couple of months ago and my partner arrested for POIC (6 images found on his phone)

Since then he hasn't been allowed any contact with his children and step child. We have a new baby together. SS involved and due to having the children's other parents involved in this we made the decision for my partner to live elsewhere until at least the oldest 2 are over 16 (a few years away)

I have chosen to stay in a relationship with him and want him to have supervised contact with the kids. My question is though, how long can they prevent him from having contact with his children?

When contact is allowed who decides what contact he is allowed and where it will be held and for how long the contact lasts each session?

Is there anything preventing myself being the supervising adult? (I am doing a child protection course in 2 weeks time)

I don't seem to get any answers and feel totally clueless. My baby hasn't seen her dad in half of her life and won't know who he is, I just want something in place for her to build a bond with him.

Thank you for your reply.

His bail conditions state he isn't allowed any contact. We have appealed his bail conditions, has anyone had to do this and know how long that can take?

We have 3 children (one each from previous relationships and one together) the other parents have been great and have agreed to supervised contact which is such a relief.

Yes he has opened up about his history of sexual abuse. We are booked in for a child protection course and he has accepted counselling.
