Hiya all.

So hubby has had a chat with the arresting officer, from the first day at the end of May.

They said just got to keep us in the loop , every 80 days, just to see how things are etc.

Still looking at devices and would have them back and looked at by the end of October, she said then would decide on the outcome.

So was gonna ask.

How long from their decision till court case ?

Hi,

Do you mean police making a decision to send to the cps? Or the cps' decision?

It took 15 months in total from arrest to charge for us. Police sent evidence to cps in April. They charged him end of August.

Nothing about this process is speedy.

I hope they keep to their timescales we were told 'max another 6 weeks' at every bail.

Hi Chelsea1,

I think it can take on average 30- 40 days from police to CPS, then it can sit with CPS for another 12 weeks if charges are brought. I have included the link below for more info - https://www.cps.gov.uk/publication/cps-data-summary-quarter-4-2020-2021

Hope this helps x

Hiya Lee.

Yes I see what you mean. They have said to him that they are awaiting for the devices to come back which haven't been checked yet.

They said to him then when they are ready they will call him and arrange for the next step.

But the Police adviser was quite confident end of October.

Hi Chelsea.

my hubby also just got his first update from the arresting officer since his arrest in May. (Frightened the shit out of me when I got the phone call at 20:30 last night - I was convinced for a second she was going to say something awful and I'm literally very to give birth any day now!!).
Anyway, our update was that they are still checking devises but at the moment plan to go to CPS just for the offences we was arrested for on the day. She was very pleasant checking we were ok and telling my hubby to wait on me hand and foot with the baby and to enjoy being a new dad ect. Was really odd.
She told him to go about his life and not to worry.

She said to us that the forensics team have a 75 day turn around so it "won't be long" until we know if the devices are clear then it will go to CPS after that. No idea when they got the devises SS been more than 75 days since arrest anyway so we will see but I would hope we will hear something end of October too for the devises abs hopefully send to CPS by end of the year. Around here cases seem to be taking about 14 months from arrest to court - we are Essex.

Hi ScaredLamb.

Yes my arresting police office was very friendly indeed. Asked about me and asked about my house sale and wanting to know if I was ok. Very strange but too nice.

I joked with her saying I would hear from her at Xmas and she laughed saying yes be in touch then. But she said she was hoping to get device reports back by the end of October. She did say these cases can take between 0-12 before it can be sent to CPS.

Hope you and hubby and baby are ok with everything.
