Hiya all.

So I wonder if people can help. So we are nearly 4 months in and still nothing just a chat so far with the police officer. Nice chat etc.

So the question is. Hubby had a Iphone latest model, with icloud etc. Now the police have said any stuff illegal images the phone will be destroyed. Ok. But what happens when court cases etc are over and he gets say another Iphone and put his icloud details in. Boom the pictures etc come back again. Catch 22.

Xx

Yes they can have cloud storage, the only thing that would stop it if is it was a conditions on the SHPO, if this was a condition it would normally have a Caveat that if they have cloud storage then they have to make it accessible to the public protection officer for view, and one of the conditions will be that they may have to supply them with the password.

There is also no issues with the type of phone they can have as long as it does not go agains the SHPO then that phone will be fine.

In relation to the other question you raised on iCloud, if the images have been stored to that iCloud account then as part of sentencing it is likely the CPS will make an application to the court for that cloud account to be destroyed (IE taken down by the service provider) so it can no longer be accessed.

Hi Chelsea1

from the direct experiance i have of a family member in this situation and indirect of a family friend being in the same situation they both have iPhones and there has never been an issue. The only comment on there SHPO in terms of cloud storage is that if they have cloud storage then they have to make it available to view upon request and if asked supply the password (which has never been asked for)

I'll be happy if my family member is not allowed to access the internet on release - hate it, it's got him into a whole lotta trouble.

Sadly we live in a digital age, and everything is delt with online, be it job applications, dealing with Universal credit or anything, give me a paper and pencil any day, as a society we rely to much on the internet.
