Options for supervised visits or contact centre

My ex husband will be released from prison next year. He was sentenced due to illicit conversations online.
My children desperately want contact and I don't feel he is of any risk to them.
Our son will be 16 so I'm assuming he will be able to have contact without approval.
Our daughter will be 11 so this will be an issue.
SS will be difficult as I'm certain they'll rather this simply didn't happen as it'll be a lot of paperwork.
My question is this. If they insist on supervised contact can we use a contact centre for my 11yr old? I don't know who else can supervise access.
I am unwilling to do this weekly. My ex is an ex for a reason and it'd be unhealthy for us to spend regular time together. His girlfriend hates my children and has been physically and verbally abusive to both my children so she isn't an option. His mum lives away.
Has anyone been in a similar situation where supervising persons are very limited?

It is still ongoing for my partner but he is trying to get visitation through a contact centre. It is the best option since his ex doesn't want him to have any contact.
At a centre a supervisor can be present, but if you agree outside of a centre I believe a family or friends can supervise if approved by SS or a judge. Your ex could go to family court to arrange how and when contact is given- and out your case you dont want it weekly.

Hello
My 4 year old daughter's dad received a caution for possession of iioc and on the SOR
There's no-one suitable to supervise visits and I was hoping to go through a contact centre but when I've done research it tells me that contact centres are generally used for short term. Is this true or do they sometimes do longer term in certain circumstances?
Im sure he's going to take me to family court at some point, can the court order it to be at a contact centre for a long period of time?

Hi lightbulb.
We haven't been warned it is short term. It's a paid service so as long as my partner pays for it I assume will be ok. For the well-being of the children tho long term probably isn't sustainable and that might be where the concern is.
We are hoping in time my partner's parents can be signed off as supervisors. Maybe me too but the kids do not know me. We are still waiting for the courts to set conditions but they can overall dictate the arrangement, and assume the duration as well. It is likely it would need to be revised every couple of months.
