Hi everyone

So do courts take people's mental health into consideration when deciding weather to make it public or not my friend has really bad mental health problems and I'm really concerned that if it goes public I think he will try to seriously harm himself is their anything I can do in order to not make it public or is that out of my hands any advice will be amazing.

Thanks

Personally (might seem harsh), I don't think anyone cares. We were never warned about what would happen, or asked if any family members etc had mental health issues - perhaps passed a leaflet with a few helplines on and that's it....

When my boy was being investigated we were told by the police only the viewing and distribution would be in the media, but our utter horror the whole lot came out incl our address. We were told it's in the 'public interest' and they have no say on what's reported!?!?!?! Not sure if a GP notification would make a difference.

I don't think it would make a difference to be honest (I know it's not what you want to hear)

I've heard that apparently maybe kids would be a mitigating factor fo papers but again not much makes a difference...

I just try and shove it all to the back o my mind until we know what's going on. It does make my heart sink to think it could be but on the other hand I don't know if it will yet so I'll take the rough with the smooth and just try on get on wih life...

Therapy may help you in the long run deal with the potential of papers...
